Welcome to the Christian Godde Project, the focal point of an effort to develop a Divine Feminine Version of the New Testament. Whereas other Bible versions, such as The New Testament and Psalms: An Inclusive Version and The Inclusive Bible: The First Egalitarian Translation take gender inclusion to “the next level” by not depicting Godde in masculine terms, the proposed Divine Feminine Version (DFV) is being developed to depict Godde in feminine terms as part of a more broad effort to reclaim the Divine Feminine within the Christian Godde.

I’m curious, will you be using a new inclusive pronoun for he/she?

That’s an excellent question, and one that we considered early on. New pronouns like “Thon,” “Ve,” “Xe,” etc. seem too exotic to be realistic. After some additional research we decided to follow the lead of other inclusive translations and use the singular “they” where necessary. Three of the links on the right-hand side of this page under “Inclusive Bible Version Issues” articulate the case for this usage, which has become increasingly more accepted. I’m sure our decision to use the singular “they” will be considered controversial among some grammarians, but most readers won’t think twice about it.

What a fantastic project; may Godde bless you as you continue this work.
